While Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt has co-signed a 25-governor statement expressing support for Texas using razor wire at the Texas-Mexico border, the Oklahoma National Guard has not been deployed there as of Jan. 30, 2024. Gov. Stitt is considering the option, stating Jan. 29, 2024 that he would send troops if Texas Gov. Greg Abbott requests them.

The Texas National Guard was seen erecting razor wire on Jan. 23, 2024, against a Supreme Court decision released Jan. 22 which ruled that federal authorities could dismantle razor wire installed by state law enforcement. Gov. Abbott defended those operations by declaring a state of invasion warranting self-defense.

The most recent contribution of troops by Oklahoma to Texas border enforcement was a 30-day deployment of Oklahoma National Guard officers, which ceased August 2023.
