Organizations need to pre-register before applying, and while that registration takes five minutes, it could take two days for a nonprofit to be approved to apply.There are a lot of requirements to qualify, including that you must be local, a 501(c)(3), and be able to prove negative financial impact due to the pandemic. All organizations must also be nonpartisan.Potential recipients can include those who provide food and shelter or address and prevent domestic violence or human trafficking.”Many of the nonprofits were just having to pull up by their bootstraps and cut costs, cut employees, cut services, and as they begin to ramp back up, these dollars are to be there to assist them,” said Brent Kisling, Oklahoma Department of Commerce.Nonprofit groups can apply online here starting Thursday. The portal will be open for two weeks and close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 15.
